CCT Supporting People Living With HIV

Since 2012 April, with support from TUNAJALI II, CCT, Health and HIV and AIDS, engaged in implementing community home based care service in Dodoma municipal. The objective is to improve quality of lives of PLHAs/TB patients and their families through sustainable community support systems.

Most of the activities implemented are to provide care to PLHIV, and this improved significantly the health of many people living with HIV and AIDS in Dodoma Municipal covering 37 wards, with total no of 70 community volunteers.

The project taking care of 1Due to excellent care from our community volunteers, now a day most of PLHIV are not sleeping in the bed, them are awake and doing their daily activity within the community. Some of them engaged into IGA group and Savings and lending groups. In Dodoma Municipal we have 48 SILC groups and 61 IGA groups which mainly their members are people living with HIV. These groups improve the life of PLHIV and reduce the depended to other people. Some of them open small shops, others have poultry, goats and pig, and most of the groups initiate beehive project.

Through these activities many of PLHIV in TUNAJALI project at Dodoma Municipal feel the good quality and appropriate care that helps them and their families maintain their livelihood and attain best quality of life.
